First Nations YouthBuild Canada (FNYBC) Signs Letter of Intent with WeMaple

CALGARY, Alberta, and WINNIPEG, Manitoba – Nov 21, 2023 – Business on Camera (BOC), award-winning marketing and communications company, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with First Nations YouthBuild (FNYBC), the Canadian branch of YouthBuild International charter schools, to produce a documentary film as part of WeMaple Season 3.

The Letter of Intent paves the way for deeper cooperation between WeMaple and FNYBC following several introductory and exploratory meetings between the Alberta and Manitoba companies. The signing of the LOI provides a framework for both sides to identify collaborative opportunities for joint development of a 10-minute short film and will enable FNYBC to leverage WeMaple’s advanced media ecosystem and robust creative team.

“This is a very impressive initiative and the social impact is tremendous,” states BOC CEO Matt Keay.

“FNYBC aspires to create a proven intake process that will affect more than 800,000 youth across the planet,” expressed FNYBC Director Jody Linklater.

“All these things that we’re doing involve multi-billion dollar corporations, and we need to be involved in the most innovative things that are happening in Canada. It’s my perspective that it’s important to not just be an observer; we’re actively doing the good work that needs to be done.”

WeMaple started as a grassroots effort to celebrate amazing achievements of Canadians for the country’s 150th anniversary in 2017 through creative visual narratives. Since then, the WeMaple series has expanded to focus on stories of innovation, excellence, and perseverance across the nation. WeMaple Season 3 illuminates the true potential of inclusion, and the power that comes from collaborative intelligence and technology.

WeMaple adheres strictly to the integrity of the programming and maintain editorial control to ensure we align with the genres rulings in the Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office (CAVCO) definitions.
