WeMaple awarded Alberta Media Fund grant

WeMaple Season 3 has been awarded an Alberta Media Fund (AMF) grant of $124,625 through the Alberta Made Production Grant (AMPG) stream, which is equivalent to 25 percent of all eligible Alberta costs.

In addition, WeMaple Season 3 has been approved for the Training and Mentorship Incentive, which is a top-up of the base grant to support mentor-trainee roles for on-set training, job shadowing, and mentorship activities.

“WeMaple has some incredible stories lined up and we are grateful to Alberta’s Minister of Arts & Culture for ensuring the ongoing growth and sustainability of the province’s film sector,” says Matt Keay WeMaple Founder.

The AMPG aids smaller-budget Alberta productions, aligning with the government’s aim to boost the growth of the province’s cultural industries. It’s one of many grants offered by the AMF.

The AMF offers a range of grants that play a vital role in supporting Alberta’s cultural industries, including the screen-based production sector, fostering growth and success while contributing to the diversification and job creation objectives of the Alberta government.

Leveraging BOC’s creative team, WeMaple Season 3 will be following stories of grassroot Canadians that will be contributing to clean technology projects in Alberta. These stories will showcase remarkable individuals and their contributions to the province’s infrastructure legacy.

“A half a million dollar budget is really nothing in the film business. We are proving out this model with how public and private sector dollars come together – then we will scale it.”
