TELUS Will Make WeMaple Season 3 Available to Customers

TELUS has established that WeMaple’s upcoming documentary series following TransPod and Indigenous youth narratives, along with other amazing stories will be distributed by TELUS Optik TV on demand service.

WeMaple has broadcast via TELUS on demand service in the past to distribute its programs, and according to Executive Producer Matt Keay, WeMaple is set to expand from traditional broadcast and this established relationship to explore new formats.

“It’s a huge opportunity for us to not only bring innovation to the media space, but also distribute them in new and unique ways. This applies to short and long form videos,” said Keay.

Keay further expressed that this initial commercial broadcast agreement allows WeMaple to submit an application for grant support from the Alberta Provincial Government’s Media Fund.

TELUS’ discretion will allow WeMaple Season 3 to satisfy all required technical specifications and conform to all relevant Canadian laws, regulations, and policies governing content, taste, community representation, and diversity of voices.

This assessment encompasses compliance with the broadcast standards applicable to TELUS’ licensed Community Programming Service.

“We’re seeing such a dramatic shift to doing things online,” said Keay. “Also the streaming platforms – does anyone have a phone number for someone at Netlfix?”

Business on Camera is the official promoter of WeMaple Season 3. WeMaple, single purpose entity is a registered corporation in the province of Alberta.
